Camera Details...
SALE - astronomiser is having an end of line sale on astronomiser CCD cameras. All prices have been reduced by at least 25%. Currently, we have 9 of these cameras left - once these are gone, we will no longer be selling them - we will still be offering a webcam modification service, pre-modifed webcams and basic modified SPC900NC cameras.
Black and White high sensitivity Advanced Amp-Off Long Exposure camera with a larger 1/3" ICX424AL CCD, housed in an aluminium case with air cooling.
This camera is fitted with an ICX424AL 640 x 480 7.4 micron pixels 8 bit black and white 1/3" Wfine CCD sensor. This sensor is twice as sensitive as the 1/4" B&W CCD fitted to the ASTSC15BW and gives a field of view approximately 1 1/3rd wider.
This camera is designed with very long exposure deep sky imaging in mind. The amp-off function allows gradient free imaging of over five minutes per single exposure and gives an excellent signal to noise ratio. It is very sensitive and can be used with CCD filters for tri-colour LRGB deep sky imaging. The larger CCD makes it considerably more sensitive than the standard cameras, reducing exposure times and increasing detail.
For planetary imaging, this camera has a much higher sensitivity than the standard ASTSC15C and can be used at higher frame rates and faster exposure times to give high quality images even under average to poor seeing conditions, though with the larger field of view, the image scale is smaller. Can be used with CCD filters for LRGB/ IRRGB planetary imaging.
It is supplied with an 1 1/4" focusser adapter.
Parallel version
Use in conjunction with a PC or laptop - this camera comes with a single cable with both a parallel and USB connector - both need to be connected for long exposure imaging. Simply disconnect the parallel connector for Planetary, Lunar or Solar imaging.
Serial version
Use in conjunction with a PC or laptop - this camera comes with a single cable with both a serial and USB connector - both need to be connected for long exposure imaging.
Serial cameras are supplied with a serial to USB adapter for a USB only solution. When used with a USB hub, you can run a single USB line to your PC or laptop.
Simply disconnect the serial connector for Planetary, Lunar or Solar imaging. To use the serial version with K3CCD tools, you will need to purchase the full version of K3CCD Tools 3 ($49) from the K3CCD registrations page. You should do this after downloading the trial version. Although Serial to USB support is now widespread I would recommend that you check with your software supplier before purchasing a serial camera.
