Modified SPC900NC cameras...

As of 4 September 2007, all astronomiser cameras are Windows Vista compatible. If you already own an astronomiser camera and would like it to be updated to work with Vista, please contact me. If you are running Windows Vista and buying a new astronomiser camera, it will be supplied with a driver disk for both Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Note: You can pay using the 'Add to Cart' and 'Checkout' buttons - this uses PayPal Web Cart and does not require you to have a PayPal account - all major credit cards are accepted.

If you would like to buy a camera and live outside the UK and Europe, please go to the World Camera Sales page - this page contains world checkout functions - this page contains only limited information on the cameras, please see the details pages before choosing which camera you would like to purchase.

The ASTSC1C and ASTSC1BW cameras are available in either serial or parallel vesions. The serial versions are supplied with a serial to USB converter and when used with a USB hub, allow you to run a single USB line to your PC or laptop. To use the serial version with K3CCD tools, you will need to purchase the full version of K3CCD Tools 3 ($49) from the K3CCD registrations page. You should do this after downloading the trial version. Although Serial to USB support is now widespread I would recommend that you check with your software supplier before purchasing a serial camera.

ASTSC1C - Colour Long Exposure Camera

ASTSC1BW - Black and White high sensitivity Long Exposure Camera

ASTSC1C...

ASTSC1C - Colour Long Exposure camera

Camera Details...

Basic Long Exposure colour camera, in original case, a budget introduction to Long Exposure Imaging.

This camera is fitted with an ICX098BQ 640 x 480 5.6 micron pixels 24 bit colour 1/4" Wfine CCD sensor.

In terms of planetary imaging, this camera will function in exactly the same manner as a standard Toucam Pro (with the same, ICX098BQ colour ccd sensor).

The camera can be supplied with or without a focusser adapter.

Parallel version

Use in conjunction with a PC or laptop - this camera comes with a single cable with both a parallel and USB connector - both need to be connected for long exposure imaging. Simply disconnect the parallel connector for Planetary, Lunar or Solar imaging.

Serial version

Use in conjunction with a PC or laptop - this camera comes with a single cable with both a serial and USB connector - both need to be connected for long exposure imaging. It is also supplied with a serial to USB adapter and can be used directly connected to your PC/ Laptop serial port or plugged in to a USB port. When used with a USB hub, you can run a single USB line to your PC or laptop. Simply disconnect the serial connector for Planetary, Lunar or Solar imaging.

Used in conjunction with GuideDog or Guide Master and either a serial mount control cable or parallel guiding this camera can be used as an autoguider, although I would recommend using the equivalent black and white model - ASTSC1BW.

All Astronomiser cameras have a unique serial number for identification and security purposes and are guaranteed against defects of workmanship for one year. All other repairs in the first year will be carried out at cost and upgrades to more advanced models are available.

See the Image Gallery for shots taken with this and other Astronomiser cameras.

This camera represents a highly affordable introduction to CCD imaging.

ASTSC1BW...

ASTSC1BW - Black and White high sensitivity Long exposure Camera

Camera Details...

Black and White high sensitivity Long Exposure colour camera, housed in original case.

This camera is fitted with an ICX098BL-6E 640 x 480 5.6 micron pixels 8 bit black and white 1/4" Wfine CCD sensor.

For planetary imaging, this camera has a much higher sensitivity than the standard ASTSC1C and can be used at higher frame rates and faster exposure times to give high quality images even under average to poor seeing conditions. Ideal for use with CCD filters for LRGB/ IRRGB planetary imaging.

Although Serial to USB support is now widespread I would recommend that you check with your software supplier before purchasing a serial camera.

Used in conjunction with GuideDog or Guide Master and either a serial mount control cable or parallel guiding - with around four times the sensitivity of the standard colour sensor, you are guaranteed to be able to find a guide star in virtually any part of the sky, even with an 80mm refractor as your guide scope.

This camera is a real performer for guiding and planetary imaging and a good fast exposure black and white deep sky camera.
